Stock Market[edit | edit source]

The stock market runs in four hour cycles, 24 hours a day. The first three hours are for open trading, the last hour trading halts and accounts are settled.

Here's a very brief bullet list that outlines the principles behind the stock market:

  • Players make trades through a broker who holds a balance for the player
  • A player may only belong to one brokerage firm at a time
  • On Deposit, funds take one trade session to clear before the player may purchase stocks
  • Brokers require minimum deposits, some require minimum account values
  • Players may buy/sell at the current price or set a limit
  • All limit orders expire at the end of the trade session
  • All limit BUY orders are deducted from the broker account until the limit expires or the player cancels the order
  • Players can only place limit SELL order on stock in their holdings
  • When selling stock, funds are not released until after the current trade session closes

Quick Start Guide

Currency Market[edit | edit source]

The currency market runs in twelve hour cycles, 24 hours a day. The first ten hours are for open trading, the last two hours trading halts and all accounts are settled. The final valuations for currencies then apply to the open market at the start of the following session.

Here's a very brief bullet list that outlines the principles behind the currency market:

  • Players make trades through specialized brokerage firms who hold a balance for the player
  • Players must use the same broker for stocks and currency trades
  • Not all brokers offer currency market trading
  • Currency market accounts require significant investment
  • Trades are executed in blocks of millions of units in a currency
  • There are currently eight currencies in the game up for trade
  • Player actions and game events affect the currency market
  • Players own stock in a currency, not the currency itself
  • Unlike selling stock, sales of currency are immediately available for trading
  • The currency market does not offer limit or stop orders
